All inquiries are offered a free, no-obligation consultation. This consultation consists of answering any questions you may have about my doula services and acts as an "interview" to see if we are a good match.
Phone & Email Support
At the time of hire, I become available for clients 24/7 via phone and email until our postpartum visit.
My services include two prenatal visits. The first visit is for discussing and creating a birth plan. The second visit will be a "labor rehearsal" to practice labor positions and comfort measures.
My clients are provided with education & information to assist them in their decision making. Likewise, they are given local resources for further support (i.e. support groups, lactation consultants, photographers, etc).
I arrive when requested and remain with you until baby is born, placenta is delivered and mom & baby are stable.
Baby’s First Feed
I am trained to assist with baby's first latch.
My services include one postpartum visit to reflect on your birth experience and answer any questions you may have.
As a Doula, I Do Not:
Perform any clinical tasks
My code of ethics prohibits me from performing any medical tasks including but not limited to cervical checks, taking blood pressure and monitoring fetal heart rate.
Make decisions for you
While I do provide evidence based information to assist in your decision making, I do not tell you what choice to make. I will support whatever you decide.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
I can be a useful tool in facilitating conversation between you and the staff, but it is outside of my scope of practice to speak for you.
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
Your experience follows your birth preferences, not what I believe those preferences should be.
